In this section, we discover the SNJM’s ability to adapt over the years.
The needs of the people, as well as the customs and rules, have changed since the beginning of the Congregation in 1843. Nevertheless, the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) are always open to new influences…
A constant commitment
They adapt their intervention space and remain faithful to the charisma of their founder by focusing on the presence of the other person in order to promote their full potential.
Thus, while many of the 7,000 SNJM Sisters have had school-based education as their primary ministry, many have been involved in a variety of ministries, also called “commitments. This is an invitation to discover the various forms of these commitments which are examples of liberating action in support of the SNJM mission.
It is worth noting that these “ministries” are often at the heart of a 2nd, 3rd and even 4th career of these committed women who do so on an individual basis and also in groups, in collaboration with SNJM affiliates and partners.
