World Health Day

During this challenging period of global pandemic, World Health Day is an opportunity to express our gratitude to nurses and to all of those who make sacrifices for the benefit of our health.

This 2020 theme, chosen well before the outbreak of Covid-19 by the World Health Organization, aimed to pay tribute to the work of midwives and nurses even before this exceptional situation we find ourselves in today.

By giving nurses and midwives an international year, the WHO hopes that the leaders of countries and their constituents, are reminded of the crucial role that they play in safe-guarding the health of people around the globe.

With the current crisis, the awareness of the importance of their role is more evident than ever.
