In the life of the religious community, the arts, particularly painting and music, have held a special place, especially during special celebrations or liturgical feasts. For some religious, painting, playing and composing are a way of living out their spirituality, praying and sharing the charism and heritage of Mother Marie-Rose.

Many religious have created pictorial works of varying renown. These works have adorned chapels and churches, illustrated numerous books and documents, and contributed to brightening up many events. Some have created representations of their founder, Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher, in a variety of media.

The artist’s palette on display was used by one of these religious, an art teacher at Collège Durocher in Saint-Lambert. It was used for many purposes, including the creation of visual elements for community events and celebrations.
