World Environment Day

Biodiversity is the theme of World Biodiversity Day 2020. Launched in 1974 by the United Nations (UN), this day aims to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting and improving our environment for the well-being of all people and for development worldwide.

Since the beginning, celebrations have been held around the world to remind individuals, businesses and communities of their responsibility to rethink their actions with regard to their impact on the environment. In its message this year, the UN reminds us that there are one million plant and animal species threatened with extinction, largely as a result of human activities.

To test your knowledge of biodiversity, take the quiz available on the UN website and watch the video.
