World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation

September 1st is an invitation to unite all Christians on earth in a spirit of communion. This date marks the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. It has a great ecumenical dimension since it rallies Orthodox, Protestants and Catholics in favor of a commitment that supports the encyclical Laudato Si’.

“A true ecological approach always becomes a social approach; it must integrate questions of justice in debates on the environment, so as to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.” (LS 49).

This year, it is around the theme “Listen to the voice of Creation” that all Christians will unite to pray and to commit to concrete actions in order to preserve our most precious asset, the common home.

Remember that this day also begins the Season of Creation which takes place from September 1st to October 4th. Discover the prayer here.
