In the United States, Catholic Sisters’ Week, sponsored by Communicators for Women Religious (CWR), runs from March 8 to 14. This week is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women religious engaged in missions 52 weeks a year.
They are active in a multitude of places in the United States and around the world, countering human trafficking, promoting education and justice, assisting migrants and refugees, raising awareness and advocating for an integral ecology to care for the Earth and, by extension, the human environment.
Once again this year, an invitation was extended to congregations and religious sisters to organize events and campaigns to, among other things, make their actions known, develop their networks, share their witness to the Gospel, their spirituality and their charism.
Among the many congregations on the Steering Committee are the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM).
