The 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women will be held in virtual mode from 15 to 26 March 2021. As in previous years, this session will welcome representatives of Member States, United Nations entities and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
During this session, priority will be given to issues related to “Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.”
This session is an opportunity to discover the diversity of realities experienced by women and girls in all regions of the world. It also presents initiatives carried out in various countries, sometimes with very limited resources.
It is an extraordinary experience for the participants and a way to take the pulse of the progress, even if it is sometimes very minimal in some countries, taking into account the morals and customs.
