I want my students to enjoy themselves. I want them to enjoy the atmosphere here and do their creative thing. Volunteering feeds the soul. If I wasn't doing this I would be watching YouTube videos at home. I feel pretty good that I'm here.

Volunteering at Heritage University and the Yakima Valley was a great experience. Being at Heritage reminded me that education in an integral part of the success of a person and having the opportunity to go to school is a true blessing. Helping the university in any capacity allows the university to run efficiently and allows it to be the best that it can be for those blessed students.
¡Ven! ¡Estás bienvenida! Come! You are welcome here! Three years ago, knowing my heart´s deepest desire to return to South America, Sr. Cathy Beckley put me in contact with Sr. Brigid Baumann who responded to my unsolicited e-mail by saying, ¨Come! You are welcome here!¨ So, without looking back, I left everything in Seattle to encounter the life I currently love in Lima, Perú.
Volunteering at the House of Peace is rewarding and challenging.
I began volunteering seven months ago. As soon as I walked in the door, I could feel the peace and knew this was "A GOOD PLACE TO BE."
I work as a greeter and am the first person that people see. I can sense that the people coming to pray, to participate in a program or just get out of the cold feel special and that they love the place. They are always polite, quiet and respectful.
My volunteering at the Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center is the high light of my week! It's a wonderful privilege to work with such wonderful persons who are also passionate about social justice and peace-making. It's an opportunity to learn how to bring about systemic change at the local, regional, national and international levels. Each day I am doing something different and interesting.
