Friday, April 25, 2014 – This morning, the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) launched their SNJM Volunteer Program. The aim of this initiative is to recruit volunteers for seven programs, each managed by Sisters or Associates of the community.

Participating projects are situated in four countries and include:

2. Centre Alpha Sainte-Anne (C.A.S.A.) (Canada)
3. Centro « Maria-Rosa » - Peru (Peru)
4. Centro Social Madre Maria Rosa (Brazil)
5. Heritage University (United States)
6. Holy Names House of Peace (Canada)
7. Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center (United States)

The Sisters have developed communication tools to make the mission and needs of these organizations better known to the general public. Brief descriptions, job descriptions, testimonials from previous volunteers and application forms are available at the following address:

Starting today, anyone interested in volunteering for one of these projects can submit their application on line.

3rd World Day Against Trafficking In Persons

The SNJM Anti-Trafficking Committee is inviting you to a reflection in connection with the 3rd World Day Against Trafficking In Persons – this day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2013.

"Every country must join together to overcome this transnational threat by supporting and protecting victims while pursuing and prosecuting the criminals. On the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, let us resolve to act as one in the name of justice and dignity for all."
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

We trust that you might be willing to gather with a small group for sharing and hope that you might try to promote it as well.
