In Lesotho, following optional early childhood programmes, children enroll for 7 years of primary schooling that begins at age 6. The teaching is initially in Sesotho, but English is the language for education in the upper grades of the primary schools. Our Sisters operate 4 primary schools. St. Bernadette's Primary School – Maseru - Lesotho
St. Bernadette's Primary School is located in the capital city of Maseru. With 1676 students St. Bernadette's is a very active and busy school. The sisters and lay staff who work here do so following the spirit of Marie-Rose Durocher, the foundress of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.
Little Flower Primary school - Kolonyama - Lesotho
Little Flower Primary School approximately 350 children while the preschool serves 15. Children are taught psychologically, spiritually, academically and socially. Some students are AIDS orphans. They are taught about behaviours that can put them at-risk. They also learn about the trafficking of children.
